Bootmen: Novice director Perry (of the dance group Tap Mutts) used his own background to develop this toe tapping film of a youthful gentleman's escape into big-time show business- and then back once more as he rallies his blue collar tap-dancing cronies to build his own modern-day dance show. Thieves: Hard postwar drama about a returning vet looking for revenge from his trucker dad's punishment at the hands of a crooked fruit trader in San Francisco. Cast includes Richard Conte, Valentina Cortese, Lee J. Cobb, Barbara Lawrence, Jack Oakie, Millard Mitchell, and Joseph Pevney. (94 minutes, 1996)
The Little Thief: So-so personality picture of the title lass, a disassociated, amoral adolescent floating thiough life in postwar France. If she comes off as a girl Antoine Doinel, it's since the original tale was cowritten by Francois Truffuut, who was allegedly preparing to film this at the time of his demise. Cast includes Charlotte Gainsbourg, Didier Bezace, Simon de la Brosse, Nathalie Cardone, and Raoul Billerey. (104 minutes, 1989)
Blaze of Noon: A hokey tale of Holden torn between his spouse (Baxter) and his real love, flying. Cast includes Anne Baxter, William Holden, Sonny Tufts, William Bendix, and Sterling Hayden. (91 minutes, 1987)
Slave Girls: Too glamorous Andress seized by locals and painted in arrangement for sacrifice in a scene essentially equivalent to that prompted by ex-spouse John Derek for current spouse Bo years later in Tarzan, The Ape Man. Cast includes Ursula Andress, Stacy Keach, Claudio Cassinelli, Antonio Marsina, and Franco Fantasia. (93 minutes, 1978)
Reckless: It's Christmas Eve, and a ditsy, seemingly cheerful spouse (Farrow) is informed by her abruptly regretful spouse that he has taken out a contract on her life. A conceivably smart spoof of middle-style domestic relationships and fake holiday praise swiftly descends into a roaming, completely absurd comedy of the ridiculous. Cast includes Mia Farrow, Scott Glenn, Mary-Louise Parker, Tony Goldwyn, Stephen Dorff, Eileen Brennan, and Giancarlo Esposito. (92 minutes, 1995)
Rock My World: This is a pretty good comedy set in England (however shot and funded in Canada) that went directly to video in the U.S. although is far more involving than its theatrical destiny could show. We see an aristocratic British couple lease their mansion to a rock band and end up posing as the butler and chef while the misfit team ultimately shows up. Observing the interplay create between these extremely variant generations and lifestyles is fun and the music is surprisingly catchy. Cast includes Peter O'Toole, Joan Plowright, Alicia Silverstone, Jairnz Woolvett, Keram Malicki-Sanchez, Christopher Bolton, and Lochlyn Munro. (106 minutes, 2002)
Bulletproof Heart: Fortunate hit guy LaPaglia gets a job he's not really cut out for. He he hired to take out an attractive woman who is in dept with the mob. 4 well-conditioned, well-played characters containing Boyle's gloomy mobster and Craven's dimwit companion-don't count quite make this a hit. Cast includes Anthony LaPaglia, Mimi Rogers, Peter Boyle, Matt Craven, and Joseph Maher. (100 minutes, 1994)
